When you start the game, you'll have the option to load or create a new save file. You'll still be able to do local custom duels with someone in the same house as you, but local custom duels will be handled slightly differently, as will saving. Things are going to be a bit different as the hardware has changed and we're porting to modern PC. You could test decks you were prototyping, try out some screwed up terrains, and most importantly play with your friend if he brought his save on a memory card.
